Data Instincts Produces Water Conservation Video for City of Petaluma

Award-winning Novato videographer and filmmaker Trent Anderson of Media Group, has been chosen by Data Instincts of Windsor, CA, to produce an instructional video for the Petaluma Department of Water Resources and Conservation. The short video is narrated by well-known actor Peter Coyote and is designed to inform Petaluma residents about the city’s Water-Wise HouseCalls program, which is a free service that shows participants how to conserve water in their own homes.

Data Instincts, under contract with the City of Petaluma, is a Sonoma County public outreach firm specializing in water issues. On September 10, 2007, Data Instincts owner, Mark Millan, was honored with the prestigious President’s Award from the WateReuse Association at the 22nd Annual WateReuse Symposium in Tampa, Florida. The award is made to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and commitment to the Water Reuse Community.

“Petaluma’s Water-Wise program is a definite step in the right direction,” said Trent Anderson. “During the production of this project, I learned a lot about water conservation and the steps we can all be taking to conserve this finite and precious resource. Particularly enlightening, is that every drop of water we are using today is the same water that has been on this planet and in use since the beginning of mankind. There is no pipeline from outer space.”

The City of Petaluma’s Water Conservation Coordinator, Dave Iribarne, says the instructional video will be just one part of an ongoing, multi-faceted water conservation program. The finished video will be available for viewing on the city’s Web site, potentially aired on Public Access Television Station, and available in other formats as appropriate.
